The Aave community on July 17 initiated a temperature check vote to deploy Aave v4 on Tempo Mainnet, a Layer 1 blockchain focused on corporate payments and backed by Stripe, Paradigm, Shopify and Deel.
"The proposal would bring DeFi's leading on-chain credit infrastructure to businesses building on a network designed for stablecoin-based embedded finance," the Aave team said in a statement on X.
Tempo Mainnet, incubated by payments giant Stripe and venture firm Paradigm, targets corporate payment use cases with a focus on stablecoin settlement. If the Temp Check passes, Aave would connect its liquidity pool directly with traditional enterprises and explore exclusive real-world asset markets. The Tempo team plans to offer incentives on its pathUSD stablecoin equivalent to the SOFR rate during the first year of deployment.
A successful vote would also drive adoption of Aave's native stablecoin GHO in B2B credit markets and generate new revenue streams for AAVE token holders. The next step would be a formal request for comments, known as an ARFC, to define technical parameters for risk management, oracle integration and the final deployment strategy.
