Cathie Wood's ARK Invest bought about $251,500 in BitMine Immersion Technologies shares and the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF across three of its funds on July 25, adding to its crypto-linked holdings during a broader equity market sell-off.
The purchases were part of a routine portfolio rebalance, according to ARK's daily trade disclosures. The firm's flagship ARK Innovation ETF, or ARKK, acquired 5,264 BitMine shares worth about $83,100 at the stock's $15.79 close. The position represented roughly 0.0014% of ARKK's portfolio. BitMine has positioned itself as an Ethereum treasury company, holding ETH on its balance sheet alongside mining operations.
ARK's ARK Next Generation Internet ETF and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF added 28,018 shares of the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF, valued at roughly $168,400 combined. ARKW purchased 16,917 shares worth about $101,700, while ARKF added 11,101 shares valued at about $66,700. The Solana-based investment product, which trades under SOLQ.U, fell 2.12% to $6.01 on Friday. The purchases give ARK exposure to Solana through a staking-linked ETF rather than direct SOL token ownership.
The transactions followed a more active week for ARK, which bought nearly $60 million in Tesla, Circle Internet Group and Securitize shares on Thursday during a broader U.S. equity market sell-off. Tesla accounted for more than $51 million of that total. ARK also added roughly $14 million in SpaceX stock earlier in the week. Outside crypto, Friday's filings showed new purchases of Pony AI, Kodiak AI, Scribe Therapeutics and Compass Pathways, while the firm sold shares of Strata Critical Medical, ATAI Life Sciences and Elbit Systems.
The purchases were modest relative to ARK's overall assets under management, but they show the firm's continued use of public equities and exchange-traded products to gain exposure to crypto themes. For U.S. investors, the activity offers a window into how one of the country's best-known thematic ETF managers approaches digital assets through regulated vehicles. ARK's crypto buying this week also included purchases of Circle Internet Group shares across three funds on Thursday, adding roughly 130,000 CRCL shares, according to the ARK Invest Tracker.
