Pony AI reported Q2 revenue of $36.2 million, up 68.8% and above the $35.18 million consensus, as Robotaxi services revenue surged 691.2%.
"Our second-quarter financial performance reflects continued progress in commercialization and operating efficiency," Chief Financial Officer Leo Wang said.
Robotaxi services revenue reached $12.1 million, with fare-charging revenue up 849.3%. Robotruck services revenue rose 40% to $13.3 million, supported by the Sinotrans collaboration, while intelligent solutions revenue was broadly flat at $10.8 million on delivery fluctuations from autonomous domain controllers. Gross profit climbed 83.4% to $6.4 million, lifting gross margin to 17.5% from 16.1%.
Net loss attributable to Pony AI widened to $59.8 million from $53.1 million, including a $25 million one-off impairment on prepayments for long-term investments. Operating loss margin narrowed to 181.5% from 285.6% as operating expenses grew 11.4% to $72.1 million, slower than revenue. Non-GAAP operating expenses rose 9.6% to $63 million.
The global Robotaxi fleet reached 1,975 vehicles as of June 30, with plans to exceed 3,500 by year-end. PonyPilot registered users in China surpassed 1.5 million. In Guangzhou, operations expanded into the city center across four districts, covering a population of more than 7 million. The company secured joint deployment partners including Uber for more than 2,000 Robotaxis in Europe, with over 4,000 vehicles under agreements in negotiation internationally. In Luxembourg, deployment advances with Bolt and Stellantis; in Singapore, service launched through ComfortDelGro's Zig app.
Cash-like resources totaled $1,390.5 million at quarter-end, down from $1,435.5 million at March 31. Capital expenditures rose to $32.2 million from $9.6 million, funding Gen-7 Robotaxi mass production, data centers and servers. Gen-4 Robotrucks entered mass production, with driverless units deployed at Mawan Port in Shenzhen with China Merchants Port.
Chief Technology Officer Tiancheng Lou said the PonyWorld 2.0 model lets the company deploy fleets across multiple countries without a proportionate rise in engineering resources. For the first half, total revenue reached $70.5 million, up from $35.4 million a year earlier.
The revenue beat and fleet expansion show accelerating commercialization of Pony.ai's L4 autonomous technology. Investors will watch the year-end fleet target and overseas deployment, with the company expecting to exceed its full-year Robotaxi services revenue goal.
