A wallet tied to Michael Saylor's Strategy moved 1,030 Bitcoin on Aug. 4, reviving speculation about another sale of the company's shrinking treasury.

A wallet linked to Michael Saylor's Strategy transferred 1,030 Bitcoin, worth about $66.14 million, on Aug. 4, on-chain data shows.
Lookonchain flagged the transfer in a post on X, saying the coins moved to an external address about two hours before the alert. Arkham data showed five transactions ranging from $6 million to $21 million in a short window. Strategy has not confirmed a sale, and the transfer alone does not prove one.
The move follows Strategy's disclosure that it sold 1,638 BTC last week at an average price of $63,957, raising roughly $104.7 million and reducing holdings to 842,138 BTC, valued near $54 billion. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has defended the sales as corporate capital management rather than a change in conviction. "When I say 'Never Sell Your Bitcoin,' I speak as one saver to another. I have never sold mine. Not one satoshi. Strategy is a public company, not my wallet," he said. The company sold coins below its $75,419 average cost basis to fund preferred dividends and STRC stock repurchases, obligations that reached $400.7 million in the second quarter.
Separately, Bitcoin miner MARA transferred 6,000 BTC, worth about $384.6 million, to Two Prime within five hours, Lookonchain reported. The miner holds an equity stake in Two Prime and allocates Bitcoin to the firm's strategies, though it has sold before, offloading 15,133 BTC in March to retire $1 billion in convertible debt. MARA still holds 36,303 BTC, worth approximately $2.34 billion.
MSTR stock closed 2.94 percent higher Tuesday during a broader rebound, with an intraday range of $93.40 to $97.98, but remains down 50 percent year-to-date. Barclays cut its price target to $125 from $130 while keeping a buy rating, and Clear Street, Cantor Fitzgerald and B.Riley also trimmed targets on Bitcoin's bearish outlook. STRC traded at $92.53.
Strategy's next weekly disclosure will show whether the Aug. 4 transfer became a sale or a custody reshuffle. The company holds $4 billion in USD reserves after reporting a net loss of $8.22 billion in the second quarter, driven by losses on its Bitcoin holdings as BTC price fell.
