Digital Turbine is integrating Databricks’ data and AI platform to unlock the value of its first-party data from over a billion devices, a strategic move to enhance its mobile advertising capabilities and compete with the industry’s walled gardens. The partnership aims to turn billions of real-time behavioral signals into automated, privacy-conscious decisions for advertisers.
"Integrating Databricks solutions into our technology stack enables the unification of our data architecture and accelerates our ability to deploy next-generation AI," said Ben John, CTO of Digital Turbine. "We have transformed our complex data into real-world AI impact - accelerating innovation and delivering precise mobile intelligence that is driving results for our partners."
The collaboration will see Digital Turbine use Databricks Genie, an AI agent that allows employees to get answers from data using natural language, across its vast dataset spanning more than 80,000 apps. The company will also use Databricks Apps, a serverless platform for building and deploying secure AI applications directly where the data resides, preventing the need to move massive datasets.
For Digital Turbine (NASDAQ: APPS), which reported $151.4 million in revenue for its fiscal third quarter and raised full-year guidance, this partnership is a critical step in its AI-first strategy. By using Databricks to better process signals from its Ignite Graph and DT iQ data infrastructure, the company aims to deliver more efficient advertiser outcomes and solidify its position in the mobile ecosystem.
Digital Turbine's core technology relies on its Ignite Graph, which maps real-time device interactions for predictive modeling, and DT iQ, which aggregates data for smarter ad targeting. The integration with Databricks is designed to supercharge this "flywheel," connecting signals across its massive footprint to drive real-time intelligence and activation.
"Digital Turbine is a great example of what enterprise AI can deliver when it is built on trusted, governed data at scale," said Tony LaVasseur, RVP Media & Advertising at Databricks. "Genie makes it easy for DT's teams to ask questions and get trusted answers from their data instantly, while Databricks Apps turns those insights into production-ready AI applications."
The partnership establishes a foundation for future generative and agent-based mobile functions. By combining its extensive on-device presence with the Databricks platform, Digital Turbine is positioning itself to lead in an open and intelligent mobile advertising market, offering the scale of a major platform without the restrictive walls.
