Erasca Inc. shareholders lost $11.59 per share, or 53.9% of their investment, after the company disclosed a patient death in its Phase 1 trial and admitted its drug comparisons relied on limited cross-study analyses rather than head-to-head clinical trials.
"Investors deserve transparency about material risks that could affect their investments," Joseph E. Levi, founding partner at Levi & Korsinsky, said. "When a company promotes its drug candidate as potentially superior based on data it later acknowledges is inherently limited, serious questions arise about whether shareholders received the full picture."
The class period runs from Jan. 14, 2025 through April 26, 2026. On April 27, 2026, Erasca disclosed in a Form 8-K that a patient receiving 24 milligrams of ERAS-0015 had died after experiencing Grade 3 pneumonitis that progressed to Grade 5. The company also revealed that Revolution Medicines had asserted patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation claims related to ERAS-0015's preclinical comparisons. Shares fell 11% on the patent news and more than 48% after the patient death disclosure, wiping out approximately $2.8 billion in market capitalization.
Erasca is a clinical-stage precision oncology company developing ERAS-0015, a pan-RAS molecular glue for patients with RAS-mutated solid tumors, a market of approximately 2.7 million patients diagnosed annually. Throughout the class period, management promoted the drug as having "favorable safety and tolerability results, with no dose-limiting toxicities" and presented preclinical data alongside Revolution Medicines' RMC-6236, claiming comparable antitumor activity at one-tenth the dose. The company later admitted those comparisons were "not based on any head-to-head clinical trials" and "inherently limited."
The company completed a $258.8 million stock offering in January 2026 while the allegedly misleading comparative claims were being promoted to investors. Multiple law firms — including Levi & Korsinsky, Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd, Hagens Berman, and Bronstein Gewirtz & Grossman — have announced investigations or filed lawsuits. The court has set Aug. 10, 2026 as the deadline for investors to apply for lead plaintiff appointment.
The 54% decline puts Erasca shares at their lowest since the disclosures, testing investor confidence in the company's pipeline. The next catalyst is the lead plaintiff deadline on Aug. 10, which will determine which institutional investor directs the litigation.
