A three-day run of fresh price records has pushed Lighter's LIGHT token to $4.34, a 13 percent advance that leaves the perpetuals DEX token ahead of both HYPE and ETH over the same window.
The move comes as Lighter holds a $1.08 billion market capitalization with just 7,300 token holders, ranking fifth among perp DEX tokens launched in the past year by distribution, according to CryptoRank data. The project signed a revenue-sharing deal with Circle in February that drew institutional attention to the perpetuals platform.
The narrow holder base contrasts sharply with sector leader Aster, which counts roughly 256,000 wallets and a $1.94 billion market cap. RollX follows with 50,300 holders, GRVT with 30,900, and edgeX with 16,100. Backpack holds 5,100 and Paradex trails at 582. Holder counts do not track valuation in this cohort — Lighter's market cap ranks second only to Aster's despite its comparatively small distribution.
Lighter's three-day advance comes as the perp DEX sector reshuffles leadership repeatedly this year. edgeX jumped 36% to $0.629 after becoming the flagship perpetuals platform on Arc, Circle's own blockchain, while Backpack's BP added 6% to $0.452 and RollX's ROLL gained 8.5% to $0.129. The rotation across perp DEX tokens reflects shifting volume leadership as platforms compete for liquidity and listings.
Every token in the cohort trades below its all-time high. ASTER sits about 70% below its September 2025 record of $2.41, GRVT trades roughly 65% below its July peak, and Paradex's DIME is down about 86% from its March high. LIGHT's fresh highs over the past three days make it an outlier in a sector where most tokens remain deep underwater from their peaks.
The sustainability question for LIGHT hinges on whether the three-day momentum reflects durable demand or concentrated positioning. With a $1.08 billion market cap supported by only 7,300 holders, the token's price is unusually exposed to concentrated selling. The Circle revenue-sharing arrangement provides a fundamental anchor, but perp DEX tokens have shown this year that holder growth and price performance do not always move in tandem. If LIGHT's momentum stalls, the thin holder base could amplify a correction faster than peers with wider distribution. Market participants are watching whether the token can hold its new highs through the coming sessions or whether profit-taking triggers a sharp reversal.
