Morpho recorded its highest whale activity in nine months as large holders withdrew 4.35 million tokens from exchanges, signaling reduced sell pressure.
Morpho's on-chain activity surged on July 26, with 68 whale transactions exceeding $100,000 each — the highest count since Oct. 2, 2025, according to Santiment. The spike in large-holder activity was accompanied by 337 new wallet addresses, the strongest daily network growth since March 15, 2026.
Exchange outflows totaled 4.35 million MORPHO tokens, the largest single-day withdrawal since Feb. 4, 2026, per Santiment. Large holders moving tokens off exchanges typically signals accumulation and reduces the supply available for immediate selling.
The on-chain strength has yet to translate into a sustained price breakout. MORPHO traded near $1.93 on July 26, consolidating below the $2.20 resistance level that has capped gains for months. A break above that level could trigger the next leg higher, while a loss of the $1.60 support may expose the token to a deeper pullback.
Upbit Listing and Robinhood Partnership Add Catalysts
South Korea's largest exchange, Upbit, listed MORPHO in its KRW market on July 25 and 26, boosting the token's accessibility in Asia. Robinhood also selected Morpho for its new Earn product, while the protocol secured $175 million in investment from financial institutions. Morpho has expanded into fixed-rate lending on Coinbase's Base network, broadening its addressable market.
Whale Accumulation vs. Price Consolidation
The divergence between on-chain strength and price action mirrors a pattern seen in other DeFi tokens during accumulation phases. The Relative Strength Index stood at 47 on July 26, below the signal line, indicating weakening short-term momentum. The Volume Profile showed the Point of Control near $1.93, suggesting the market is in equilibrium.
If buyers reclaim the $2.20 resistance, the combination of declining exchange supply, rising whale participation, and growing ecosystem adoption could provide a stronger foundation for the next leg higher. Conversely, continued rejection below resistance may extend the current consolidation despite the improving on-chain backdrop.
