Raiku launched $rkuSOL on June 3 as Solana's first liquid staking token that generates yield from blockspace revenue, not just conventional staking rewards.
"rkuSOL introduces additional validator revenue through Raiku's blockspace auctions, bringing a unique LST to the ecosystem," Mark Hull, core contributor at Kamino, said.
The token lets users deposit SOL with Raiku-integrated validators and receive $rkuSOL at the prevailing exchange rate, which adjusts over time as yield accrues. Six external validators have committed to the mainnet launch. Revenue from Raiku's Just-in-Time and Ahead-of-Time auctions flows proportionally to stakers, boosting returns beyond standard staking yields. The core stake pool and exchange LST contracts remain untouched Solana primitives, with security backed by multiple audits. $rkuSOL has no supply cap and operates as a receipt token for deposited SOL.
Raiku developed $rkuSOL in partnership with Exponent, Loopscale, Sanctum, and Kamino. Sanctum CEO FP Lee said holders "automatically earn autocompounding yields and can access instant liquidity via Sanctum." Loopscale CEO Luke Truitt said validators "earn additional yield through blockspace sold in Raiku's auctions, giving loopers an opportunity to speculate on demand in excess of the native staking rate." Thomas Lefort, co-founder of Exponent, said the token is "a strong asset to add to a DeFi portfolio, while holders can use Exponent to tailor their exposure depending on their goals."
The product could reshape Solana's staking market by attracting high-frequency traders and institutional participants seeking exposure to blockspace demand, while putting competitive pressure on existing LST providers such as Jito and Marinade to diversify their yield sources. Jito's JitoSOL and Marinade's mSOL currently dominate Solana's LST market, but neither offers direct blockspace revenue exposure. The launch marks a step toward institutional-level adoption of Solana's infrastructure, with blockspace auctions creating a new revenue stream for validators beyond traditional staking. As Solana's DeFi ecosystem expands, products that bundle staking with blockspace exposure may become a template for how validators monetize network demand.
