Key Takeaways:

Zscaler shares fell 4.5% to $169.80 on Sept. 4 despite a fiscal Q4 beat, as investors weighed the sales leadership transition against record operating margins.
"Q4 marked the highest productivity quarter that we have ever seen, and fiscal 2026 was the highest annual sales productivity in four years," Chief Financial Officer Kevin Rubin said on the earnings call.
Revenue reached $898.2 million, up 25 percent year over year and $21.2 million above consensus. Non-GAAP EPS of $1.19 beat the $1.09 estimate. Net new ARR excluding the Red Canary acquisition accelerated to 17 percent growth from 7 percent in fiscal 2025, while non-GAAP operating margin hit a record 24.3 percent, up 220 basis points.
The stock closed at $169.80 on Sept. 4, down from $177.80 the prior session, leaving it 50 percent below its 52-week high of $336.99. The selloff came despite full-year fiscal 2027 guidance for ARR growth of 16.6 to 17.4 percent, as investors parsed the impact of two sales leaders departing last quarter.
Rubin acknowledged the transition will "play out in the first half of this fiscal" and is "reflected in our guidance." A new geo leader has accepted the offer, and the vertical leader position was filled through internal promotion. CEO Jay Chaudhry framed the departures as part of a broader sales transformation, saying the shift from opportunity-led to account-focused selling is working.
The underlying business showed broad strength. Security for AI bookings rose more than 50 percent sequentially, with 70 percent of those deals bundling data security. Z-Flex generated over $770 million in total contract value in Q4, up 60 percent quarter over quarter. Zero Trust Everywhere enterprises grew to more than 950 from over 700 in Q3.
Management guided fiscal Q1 revenue of $935 million to $939 million, up about 19 percent year over year, with EPS of $1.15 to $1.16. The company also announced a restructuring affecting roughly 3 percent of employees, with charges of $30 million to $33 million, to reallocate resources toward AI initiatives while adding dedicated new logo sales representatives.
The 4.5 percent decline puts Zscaler at its lowest level since early August, testing investor patience as the company navigates a deliberate growth deceleration from 25 percent to roughly 17 percent ARR growth. The next catalyst is the Agentic SecOps launch on Sept. 9, followed by Investor Day on Oct. 6 in New York.
