Strategy's return to Bitcoin accumulation after a 10-week pause resets the cadence of the largest corporate treasury in crypto.

Strategy bought 4,603 Bitcoin for $369.7 million at an average $80,318 per token, resuming accumulation after a 10-week pause.
The purchase, disclosed in an SEC filing Monday, was the company's first since June 22 and followed Executive Chairman Michael Saylor's "We're Back" post on X on Aug. 30. Strategy raised about $602.8 million in net proceeds from selling 4,531,421 MSTR shares during the week, the filing shows.
Of that total, $369.7 million funded the Bitcoin purchase, while $151.8 million repurchased 1,557,177 shares of its 9% Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, or STRC. Another $50.7 million covered STRC dividends and $30 million was added to cash, lifting the company's USD Cash pool to $1.61 billion alongside a $5.10 billion USD Reserve. Strategy reported 0.0% net leverage and a USD duration of about four years.
The buyback at $80,318 sits roughly 30 percent above the ~$62,000 level where Strategy sold Bitcoin during the summer, a reversal that reflects how far the token has recovered. Bitcoin was trading near $78,500 Monday, up about 28 percent in August — its strongest monthly advance since November 2024 — after reclaiming a weekly descending trendline that had capped earlier recovery attempts.
The purchase lifts Strategy's holdings to 845,050 Bitcoin, acquired for a combined $63.73 billion at an average cost of $75,412 per token. That leaves the company with roughly 4 percent of Bitcoin's eventual 21 million-coin supply cap, the largest corporate treasury in the sector.
The renewed accumulation cadence now hinges on whether Bitcoin can hold above key support. Resistance sits at $78,342, $82,193 and $83,916, while support is at $76,664, $73,909 and $71,285, according to TradingView analysis. The weekly RSI has recovered to about 56.6, approaching the 60 threshold that would confirm momentum, though the broader weekly trend remains a downtrend.
For Strategy, the return to buying after building a $5.1 billion dollar reserve and repurchasing preferred stock shows the company can resume accumulation while managing its capital structure. The size and frequency of future purchases will depend on Bitcoin's price, capital-market conditions and the company's liquidity needs, with investors watching for the next official disclosure.
