BlackRock's ETHA drew $1.02 billion in net inflows over nine straight sessions from Aug. 17 to Aug. 27, per SoSoValue data. Arkham Intelligence confirmed the streak, reporting that ETHA accumulated $889.8 million during its first eight sessions, a figure matching Farside's data.
ETHA accounted for approximately 72 percent of total net inflows into U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs during the nine-session window, with the broader group drawing roughly $1.42 billion. Buying continued Aug. 28, when spot Ethereum ETFs collectively added $102.1 million, led by ETHA's $83.8 million.
The sustained accumulation comes as Ethereum trades at $2,435.95 as of 08:00 UTC on Aug. 31, down 2.77 percent in the past 24 hours. Crypto analyst Crypto Patel flags $2,600 as the critical resistance level that could trigger a move toward $5,000-$7,000.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $202 million in net outflows on Aug. 28, ending a nine-session positive streak. ARKB, managed by Ark Invest and 21Shares, posted the largest withdrawal at $114.89 million, while Bitwise's BITB saw $49.69 million leave and BlackRock's IBIT recorded $33.4 million in outflows. The divergence shows institutional ETF flows are not moving uniformly across the two largest cryptocurrencies, with Ethereum products drawing sustained demand even as broader market volatility persists.
Ethereum's market capitalization has declined 2.63 percent to $294.08 billion, with daily trading volume falling 5.16 percent to approximately $13.7 billion. The volume-to-market-cap ratio stands at 4.66 percent, indicating relatively active trading despite the recent pullback.
ETH had previously broken above the $1,900 area and advanced toward $2,500, reclaiming a longer-term trend level around $2,150 before the latest decline. Crypto Patel noted that a sustained close above $2,600 would confirm bullish momentum, with targets of $5,000 to $7,000 mentioned for the next rally. A drop to the $2,000-$1,800 range could present another entry opportunity, he said.
BlackRock's ETHA has an average acquisition cost of approximately $3,060 per ETH. Continued accumulation above this price could solidify Ethereum's bullish trend, while a reversal in inflows might challenge current momentum.
ETF flows should not be treated as a direct indicator of near-term price direction, as investment horizons vary and crypto prices remain sensitive to derivatives positioning, macroeconomic expectations and broader risk sentiment. However, persistent institutional demand provides a buffer against exchange selling and demonstrates willingness to maintain exposure through periods of price weakness. The coming sessions could set the stage for the next significant trend in ETH, with the $2,600 level and the persistence of large-scale institutional buying as key variables.
