QuickSwap adopts Orbs perps stack after 81.8% governance vote

QuickSwap's community voted 81.8% in favor of replacing its perpetual futures infrastructure with Orbs' Perpetual Hub Ultra 2.0 across all supported chains, bringing CEX-grade execution to decentralized derivatives.

QuickSwap adopted Orbs' Perpetual Hub Ultra 2.0 as its default perpetual futures infrastructure after 81.8% of QUICK token holders backed the proposal on July 15.

"The vote reflects strong community conviction that DeFi derivatives must match centralized exchange execution quality to capture meaningful market share," a QuickSwap spokesperson said.

The integration replaces QuickSwap's previous perps solution and applies across all chains where the exchange operates, including Polygon and other supported networks. Orbs' Layer 3 technology powers the Perpetual Hub Ultra 2.0, designed to deliver low-latency order matching and aggregated liquidity — features typically associated with Binance and Bybit rather than on-chain protocols. The upgrade went live immediately following the vote, with no transition period required.

The move positions QuickSwap to compete directly with centralized exchanges for derivatives volume, a market that accounts for the majority of crypto trading activity. Perpetual futures represent roughly three-quarters of all crypto exchange volume, with CEXs still dominating despite years of DeFi innovation. By adopting Orbs' infrastructure, QuickSwap aims to capture a share of that flow while keeping settlement on-chain. The decision also confirms Orbs' Layer 3 model as a scalable backbone for DeFi derivatives, potentially drawing additional protocols to adopt the stack.
